T.A.N. THE ART OF NETWORKING - THE "T.A.N". COMMANDMENTS CODE OF CONDUCT
T.A.N. events are business social events held at public venues such as restaurants, and attendees are
guests. Guests must be 21 or older. When you chose to attend a T.A.N. event, you agree to
follow the code of conduct as shown below. This code is meant to foster a pleasant, informative and safe
environment for all, and to help prevent potential abuse of any kind. T.A.N. reserves the right to refuse entry at any event
to anyone who violates this code, and to remove any violator from the event. Repetitive offenders
will be permanently barred from attending T.A.N. events.
- Clean casual business attire is expected. No tie is ok (men) - no provocative/revealing clothing (women)
- If you chose to drink alcohol, drink in moderation. Intoxication while at a T.A.N event is not an
acceptable behavior
- Behave honestly and with integrity, never misrepresent yourself or your company
- Do not knowingly engage in or be associated with any dishonest or fraudulent practices
- Treat everyone with respect and courtesy
- Be courteous to those in the process of introducing themselves by listening to them. Remember: you want them to listen to you too
- Consider and respect other guests right to privacy
- Respect the professional opinion of others in their area of expertise
- Never humiliate or belittle other guests
- Do not use foul or abusive language
- Do not engage in any defamatory comments about anyone
- Show respect and courtesy towards those who may be your competitors
- Do not ill speak of your competition
- Do not discuss any confidential matters with anyone
- No selling of any kind, this is not the place nor the time. This is the time to meet new people and start the process of building a relationship
- Sexual harassment will not be tolerated, neither by men, nor by women. Unacceptable behaviors include (but are not limited to) sexual innuendo, pressure for dates, leering, sexually explicit gestures comment about someone's body, "accidentally" brushing someone's sexual parts or sneak attacks (e.g. grabbing buttocks or breasts), hostile put-downs, etc…
- Do not discriminate against anyone
- We love children but T.A.N. events are not a suited environment for the little ones, and they most likely would not enjoy being there anyway, so let's keep them safe and happy at home.
Always remember: First impressions count and last. Trust is built over time. You
represent not just yourself, but your business, so represent yourself well and always in a positive and
professional manner.
